Join a general committee helping to support our other initiatives
There are many committees that FJC is currently growing to help our overall organization. Listed below are some of the general committees that we are currently forming along with some general responsibilities for each type of committee. Joining a committee is a great way to get involved and to prepare you for a leadership position within our group.
Social: This committee will help plan and run the monthly socials at local establishments. Responsibilities may include: obtaining special prize opportunities, picking up/dropping off event supplies, calling members to remind them of date/time, helping with attendee registration at event, selling special prize tickets at event, taking pictures at event, etc.

Hospital Volunteering: This committee will help plan and run the monthly volunteering events at the hospitals. Since space is limited at the actual volunteer activities you may help plan one but not be able to attend. Responsibilities may include: buying supplies needed for event, picking up/dropping off event supplies, preparing for event (e.g. making set for puppet show, creating script), coming up with new and creative event ideas, etc.

Membership: This committee will help to recruit and retain our members. Responsibilities may include: volunteering at special events to educate attendees about our group, staffing a membership table at our monthly socials, calling prospective members to develop a relationship and to get them more involved, calling recently expired members to have them renew their membership, help plan and hold monthly membership drives and meetings, etc.

Marketing/Communications: This committee will help market FJC out in the community and help internally help solidify overall group messaging. Responsibilities may include: proofreading FJC documents that are to be sent externally, helping to develop copy for promotional materials, serving as a liaison to the board to ensure that messaging is consistent and is saying what we are trying to convey, managing our Facebook page, forming new relationships in the community with other young professional groups, brainstorming new ideas about how to brand and market our group, etc.

Special Events: This committee will help plan and run the special events that we participate in throughout the year. Responsibilities may include: creating e-mails to send out to members, picking up/dropping off event supplies, calling members to remind them of date/time, helping to set-up at event, etc.

Corporate Sponsors: This committee will help solicit individual and corporate sponsors throughout the year. Responsibilities may include: creating letters and other materials for our sponsorship packets, researching local opportunities for us to pursue, gathering contact information, calling and following up on leads, etc.
